Climbing trip in the High Atlas mountains to discover the desert landscapes, oases and castles and climb the Todra Gorges, the “Grand Canyon” of Morocco. The trip will be managed by one of the Alpine Guides of Società Guide Alpine Finale, who will follow you during the climbing, but at the same time will introduce you to the geology and environment of this fascinating and majestic place. The itinerary, specially designed for rock climbing enthusiasts, but also leaves space for digressions in the oases and on the mountain paths.

Day 1: Early morning flight from Italy to Marrakech. Meeting with the local staff and departure for the High Atlas mountains. HB

Day 2: Climbing on the walls of Todra. From our hotel we quickly reach Todra canyon and the cliffs where we’ll climbs. With the Alpine Guide we identify the most recent and best bolted sports routes and we dedicate ourselves to this sport. The hotel has a swimming pool to come back and refresh yourself when you feel the need. In the surroundings there are paths for walking in the oasis. Dinner and night in the hotel. FB

Day 3: The walls outside the canyon. Still time available for climbing, with the Alpine Guide, we can choose different starting places in different positions than the main canyon. In the afternoon it is always possible to take a walk or a swim in the pool. FB

Day 4: For those who want to rest their fingers, views of the High Atlas. Depending on the level of the participants and the level of training, it is possible to dedicate all the days to climbing or take a break and dedicate some time for a nice walk. . Dinner and overnight at the hotel. HB

Day 5: Climbing day in Todra. Today we are dedicated to closing the pitches that we have not been able to do in the previous days and evaluating our progress after a week of full immersion. Dinner and overnight at the hotel. HB

Day 6: The kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou and the Marrakech square. We return to Marrakech, a road that takes about 6 hours by minibus, but which we can plan with some interesting stops such as the visit of the spectacular Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou about thirty kilometers off the main route. Here we can have lunch in front of the spectacle of the adobe castles UNESCO heritage and take a walk between the walls or along the river. In the late afternoon we reach Marrakech, where we stay in a beautiful traditional RIAD inside the Medina. Evening in the magical Djamaa El Fnaa square. Night at the Riad and free dinner. BB

Day 7: Marrakech-Italy. Depending on the chosen flight time, we may still have some time to visit this beautiful city and its bazaar. Transfer to the airport and flight to Italy. BB

It is possible to stay in the Riad in Marrakech 1 extra night to dedicate a day of visiting the city (cost € 30 in a double room)
It is also possible to decide to extend the trip TO REACH THE DESERT and SLEEP AT THE MERZOUGA DUNES. From the G6, travel east towards Sahara to reach the sand dunes (approx. 4 hours by car). If you intend to return directly to Marrakech, the G 7 is worth considering 10/12 hours by car. It is also possible to break this return into 2 stages and sleep in Ait Ben Haddou (UNESCO Kasbah) and reach Marrakech mid-day of the G7.

THE JOURNEY IS STUDIED FOR THOSE WHO EXERCISE ROCK CLIMBING. IT IS ACCOMPANIED BY AN ITALIAN ALPINE GUIDE THAT WILL EVALUATE THE SKILLS AND PROPOSE TO CARRY OUT DIFFERENT CLIMBINGS ACCORDING TO THE DIFFERENT LEVEL OF THE PARTICIPANTS. IN TODRA YOU SCALE FROM LEVEL 5C UP. No logistical difficulties, the trip is organized with support in a comfortable hotel and private transport. The hotels in the Todra area are small, clean but modest structures, a minimum of adaptation is required.
