The Pale di San Martino is the largest mountain group in the Dolomites

They extend from eastern Trentino: Passo Rolle and Primiero, to the province of Belluno: Agordino and Valle del Bois.
The main peculiarity of this mountain group is the vast plateau located in the center, at an altitude of about 2500 meters. The landscape of the immense plateau is exclusively rocky and with a lunar aspect.
Walking the paths traced in this vastness of “nothing” certainly gives indescribable emotions. As soon as you move away from the shelters, you immediately feel a state of pleasant isolation from the rest of the world.
The majestic 360 ° panoramas complete and enrich the strong emotions given by these mountains.

Our trek involves climbing the Pale plateau without using the ski lifts. We will take a round trip in 4 days to visit the various corners.

The departure is from San Martino di Castrozza.

The first day will be used to reach, with the sole use of our strength (without ski lifts!), The Rosetta refuge: 1000 meters in altitude. For those who still have energy available, there will be the further possibility, by adding another 200 meters in altitude, to reach the top of La Rosetta at over 2700 meters of altitude.
On the second day we will cross the entire plateau to the east, passing the base of the now endangered Fradusta glacier. We will then descend on the south-east side, towards the Treviso refuge, which will host us for the second night.
On the third day we will descend again towards the valley, for a short distance, and then go up to the Pradidali refuge. We will be at the center of the highest and most famous peaks, which have marked the history of world mountaineering. We will find ourselves right at the base of the Cima di Ball and the Pala di San Martino that will rise above us.
The last day of the excursion includes the return to the plateau, this time further south, to then deviate, through a beautiful path with endless bends, to descend again to San Martino di Castrozza, our starting point.

Difficulty level: medium-high; a fair level of training is required in walking in the mountains.
The differences in height are not excessive and neither are the technical difficulties, in any case it is an environment and paths in the Dolomites.

The service includes the guide for the four days of excursion
